Yumi vest
when i went back to japan in january, my sister, yumi, told me how much she loved vest. she had three vests and she pulled them off very well. one of them was a plaid flannel vest, and she would wear it with white long sleeve shirt, jeans and anckled boots. she looked adorable!
so here are my new creations, vests:) inspired by my little sister.

FURLA
so Wednesday this week, i took a day off from work, and my husband took me to a mall. ive worked so hard the past couple of months - both at my regular law firm job and also for my clothing line. i sew almost every night after andy goes to bed, sew for a couple of hours to keep up my shop.
and here is the treat i got for my self! FURLA BAG:)
i love it! its white color leather bag, and perfect for going to work, or pair with suit.
i like furla because they have nice solid color leather bag that i can use for a long time.
after the shopping, i felt so guilty for spending big money (at least for me) for just a bag. but andy said that its okay because we can't do this all the time once we start a family. he is such a good husband!
then he took me to the cheese cake factory and i had peanut butter chocolate cookie doe cheese cake... it was delicious! i've always wanted to go to the cheese cake factory, since we dont have that in the city. but the one in the mall is always crowded on weekend, so it was so nice to go during the week when no one was there.
my Yukina dress made a front page of etsy today - thank you fiveforty for including me in your treasury!

harem pants
i've been seeing harem pants here and there, and also in my favorite japanese magazines. i think harem pants can be very chic if you wear it in a right way, but can look extremely lame if you miss it. i asked my husband andy what he thought about the pants. he said "those are for middle eastern, not for us. of course they don't look right!" ......
i might not be able to pull off harem pants that drapes till knees, but maybe this harem jumper might look right on me.. it looks really cute on the model.

flower print dress - new this week
i couldnt wait to use this flower print that i got last saturday. so on saturday afternoon, i made this new dress for my shop.
i made a mistake one the way, by cutting front and back piece too small. they were supposed to be bigger, and i was going to add elastic all around neck line to gather the tunic. i totally forgot that this fabric didnt have any stretch, since i always work with stretchy fabric.so i cut out the front, and added corset detail so it i can wear it without using a zipper. i actually really liked how it turned out! check out more photos here.

flower prints and gingham
i went to fabric shopping and thrifting with my friends, naoko and yuko today. here are what i got...
flower prints for spring dresses! those black and pepper mint flower prints are so lovely. cant wait to use them. picking fabric for my next creation is one of the most exciting moments in making clothes.
i didnt get to spend too much time at the thrift store, i only got two belts. on in black and one in blue. they were only $1 each. naoko got this cutest vintage green dress that's made in france. it was so cute.
* i started drinking 3-4 litters (little less than a gallon) of water every day. i used to have dried lips during the winter, but they got healed! and my skin feels nice. i have to go to bathroom every 5 mins though.
* im still mad at USPS! i hate them with passion. i never got my lost mails back and they did not make an effort to find it for me.
* baking brownies tomorrow morning! i love how the room smells when im baking....:)

What I bought recently
here are some stuff that i bought in the past couple of weeks.. i wanted to make a blog post of it before it spring comes!
ankle boots from payless: i kept seeing this boots at my favorite blog, What I Wore.
the blogger pairs these boots with color tights and skirts, and she looked so cute. so i went to payless a couple of weeks ago to pick them up myself. they were only $15 on sale!
the only problem with these shoes is that the heals are so high (3 inches) and skinny, they hurt my feet so bad. i only wear them 1 or 2 days a week at work where it's carpeted.
H&M earrings for $3.90. i love big earrings and pair them with simple dress.
purple bag from ALDO. this winter, i was so into purple stuff, i even bought purple bag. it goes well with most of my stuff, and colors, such as gray, black, and white... it doesnt go well with red or green, but oh well.

philly sucks.
i had 3 mails lost in philly unit in the past month. one of the mails was the dress that i custom made. i documented the lost mail, philly postal service called me and told me they don't know anything about it since the guy who was supposed to deliver had left for the day. they closed the case without telling me, and without even attempting to find the mail. philly sucks! this place really does. sometimes i feel like im living in some kind of ghetto 3rd world. this sucks.

my friend's shop
my friend, yuko has just opened up her etsy shop! she has many cute japanese stuff, like crane earrings and pouches and stuff. she is doing this to help educate girls in cambodia..
here is a bit about her organization:
Team Boravuth was founded on February 11, 2009 for the purpose of promoting the education and well-being of young girls in Southeast Asia through the arts. The project is named in memoriam to Boravuth Sorn whose passion for helping young girls in Cambodia inspired the creation of this project.
Various artists contribute their products for sale to help finance Team Boravuth. When you purchase any of the items displayed in the website, fifty percent (50%) of the proceeds will be directly applied to the “Girls be Ambitious” scholarship program managed by American Assistance for Cambodia/Japan Relief for Cambodia (AAfC) . Girls be Ambitious program is to prevent the trafficking of Cambodian girls and women for sexual and labor exploitation through an incentive program for girls from poverty-stricken homes to stay in school and receive additional vocational training that will provide employment alternatives, income generation and social and political empowerment. Other will be applied to such as expenses of art supplies, advertisements and travel fees.
