another dress

after making the pea coat, this dress came so much easier. it only took me like 2 hours to finish. made of poly mix stretch knit i found from jomar the other day. it was only $1 a yard!
although its cheap, i love the fabric.. its so soft and i like the color a lot. i modify this dress a bit to make it.

pea coat complete!

finally! after hours and hours of sewing, i completed the pea coat.
it was a lot of work.... i dont want to make coats with lining for a while.. i should stick with making dresses. they are so much easier and faster and fun!
this is made of corduroy, with cotton lining around bodice and polyester lining around arms. at first, i was going to just use the cotton fabric for the entire lining, but decided to use polyester thin fabric around arms. i think i made a right decision, since its so much easier to put on and take off since the fabric slips well.

the unfortunate thing is that i found one of the buttons chipping a bit. it's a tiny bit chip, but certainly a turn-off! so when i posted it to Etsy, i marked it down and warn them about the chipping :(

Karencilla, thanks for your comment! i will respond to the tag soon:)

my favorite etsy shop: beautymarkbeads

i love her shop! she makes handmade jewelries, and all of them are so feminine and elegant.
some of my favorites are...

the pink ones are too cute. i want them both earrings and bracelet, and wear them together!

This red one, I was going to buy them and book marked it, but unfortunately someone else got it before me...'( They are only 12 dollars plus 1 dollar shipping within US!

i love this pair too

pea coat

im working on a pea coat now. its taking me forever! i worked on it for a couple of hours on saturday, sunday afternoon, and today, monday.. but i have not been able to finish it:(
its a double breasted coat with cotton linings. i thought i could do it in a day or so since i've made jackets before.
plus, i think when i wear the coat, i look like kim jeon ill.... north korean dictator! awww..

little pink riding hood

as i said in my burdastyle post, i love fleece. i love how it feels on skin, soft and warm in the winter. what i don't love is that every fleece jacket seems way too sporty and not cute.
so i made this little pink riding hood jacket out of pink fleece. after i made this, andy pointed out that i cut off sleeves too short again. i like cropped sleeves, but they are not practical in this cold weather. i guess i can just wear a long sleeve or wear gloves.

pink, purple and black

these are the dresses that i made for someone who is going to Jamaica for her honeymoon. i used tara pattern from burdastyle for black one and pink one. the pattern is free! for the black one, i just substitute the sleeves with straps. i made my own pattern for the purple one. similar dress is on sale at my etsy shop:)

lime green kimono top

i just love kimono sleeves. i needed to include them in my latest creation... again!
the color lime green is not my favorite, but since i had a stash that i needed to use, i picked this color. my husband liked it. i want to make it in pale blue or purple again. maybe i can make a dress by extending the hem length in the future.

kimono top

this is my favorite creation so far! i made it a dress just by extending the length, and made it in many different color.. and i always get a compliment for this:)
this is super easy to make too, takes only about 1.5 hour.
this top is available at my online shop!
